Peverell is one of the most popular and established residential areas in Plymouth.
It is located some two miles from the city centre and the University of Plymouth.
Named in the Domesday Book, Peverell was originally part of the manor of Weston Peverell.

As of January 2022, the majority of sales during the last year were terraced properties, fetching an average price of £241,895.
Semi-detached houses sold for an average of £255,107, with flats fetching £125,775.
Overall, sold prices in Peverell over the last year were 11% up on the previous year.

What parks, play areas and facilities does Peverell have?
Peverell borders Central Park, Plymouth’s largest green space which is a hugely popular recreational area for residents.
As well as a well-stocked cafe, there is also a large play park for children featuring swings, slides and even trampolines.
There are many sports fields within Central Park, including bowls and tennis courts.
You’ll also find Plymouth Argyle Football Club’s Home Park stadium at the western end of the park.
Opposite that is the Plymouth Life Centre, which provides swimming, diving, climbing and gym facilities.

Peverell’s closest pubs are The Hyde Park and The Britannia Inn, which is a JD Wetherspoon pub.
There are a number of good takeaways, plus a larger selection on Mutley Plain nearby.
Which schools are in the Peverell catchment area?
Peverell has three very popular primary schools nearby – Hyde Park, Manadon Vale and Montpelier.
Plymouth College, the independent school, is situated just off Hyde Park. And all of the city’s three grammar schools – Devonport High School for Boys, Plymouth High School for Girls and Devonport High School for Girls – are within a three-mile radius.
What are the transport links like in Peverell?
Peverell has good access and is well-served by buses to Plymouth city centre and Derriford Hospital. The city’s main railway station is also within easy reach, while cyclists can use Central Park.
